I am coming to Thailand using a DTV visa. This is my 10th entry. I never stayed more than a month for each entry. I also have a bank account that is 10 years old but hardly used as I mostly use my us bank issued credit cards and ATM cards. I also have a phone number that may be 20 years old and tied to my bank account and my old passport. How can I make this phone number from physical sim card to esim. I don't have a permanent place to stay. I sold my Jomtien condo last year.
Answer summary
The user is in Thailand on a DTV visa and is looking to convert their physical SIM card, which is linked to their long-term bank account, to an eSIM. They mentioned that they do not have a permanent residence and previously owned a condo in Jomtien. Responses suggest visiting a phone provider's store for assistance.

Talk to the phone company. If it can be done they will do it.

Not sure what you hope to achieve, as what sim has nothing to do with bank accounts etc

SoftPapaya9740 my pixel 11 does not have any physical sim tray. The current phone pixel 5 is dying and will be dead soon. After that I will have no choice but to buy a cheap phone just to carry the physical sim.

Go to your phone providers physical store to get your Sim changed to ESim.

It depends what E-sim you want if you need an official Thai e-sim you need your passport, but if you buy an international e-sim (online) no passport needed, the only thing is maybe your bank account need the connection with the old sim, maybe cancel the bank account first, it seems you do not need it anymore for legal reasons

Graham Seal I am not going to inform anything to the bank. I have DTV for two years and the account is still open. I may have changed four passports since I opened the account 20 years ago. Never updated passport also

I just want to change my physical sim to esim.

Ronny Liekens Don't cancel the bank account (it's always usdeful to have), the OP needs go there with the new sim registered to his passport and update the details the bank has. There's a chance the bank will close the account with a DTV but there is no reason to close it voluntarily.

OP
Ronny Liekens I need an esim to replace my physical sim. My physical sim and the Thai number may be 20 years old and I want to keep it. And my Thai bank account though I hardly use it, wants to keep it also. It may also be 20 years old. I don't know the future of the DTV. I may have to go back to retirement extension in the future and need a bank account. I don't want to simply abandon it just because I don't use it.
