Is it difficult to get an METV visa if I've already stayed in Thailand for 140 days this year?

Hello.
I have entered Thailand in May and stayed for 6weeks. Went to Vietnam to apply for DTV visa but got rejected (I work remotely). Entered Thailand again in July with tourist visa and planning to stay for 3 months.
But because everyone kept saying the immigration will only allow 2 entries with tourist visa and that they wont allow entry the 3rd time, I am planning to get METV visa.
Is it difficult to get METV since I haven't heard many people get this visa.
Also will the immigration allow entry with METV althought I have stayed in Thailand for around 140days this year?

If you are only looking to stay for this year (after September as you've indicated), I would suggest applying for the SETV as this can be done from other than your home country. If you are denied, you loose less than you would with an METV.

There's a few things here
Normally you get the METV in your home country, but even with an METV you may well have trouble entering Thailand if you've spent 150 days or more inside Thailand in the past 12 to 18 months. Immigration is cracking down on people trying to live inside Thailand on visas (or visa exempt entries) intended for short term tourism.
Also you can't legally work inside Thailand on short term tourism entries, only a DTV based on Workation or an LTR Work From Thailand Professional visa allow you to do so legally.
