TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether to apply for the DTV 5-year visa while in New York or to take advantage of a 60-day visa-free entry to Thailand instead. Several commenters suggest that it may be easier to apply from within the U.S., while others point out the necessity of applying from abroad. The conversation highlights the importance of verifying application locations before proceeding.

Houses are sold online nowadays, properties managed online too along with receipt of rents. Landlords, real estate investors have gained DTVS from the London Embassy. If they show how they work online, should not be a problem getting one in NY.

I knew of one great Irish young man, he was in a job dealing with foreigners. He rented me a great place in BKK. Sukhumwit +, 2007.

He told me, he was employed with that real estate agency to deal with foreigners.
