TLDR : Answer Summary
The demand for hotel work in Thailand is currently low, as many establishments are not operating at full capacity. For foreigners, obtaining jobs in Thailand requires a valid work permit, which can be challenging. Regarding cannabis, there has been significant legal progress: while marijuana was never fully legal, it was recently decriminalized for certain uses. Possession and cultivation (excluding extracts with over 0.2% THC) are allowed, but recreational use remains illegal and can lead to fines or imprisonment.

have you been living under a rock these last 6 months? As of yesterday, there are no more criminal penalties for possessing cannabis. Now, I dont know how that stands in regards to selling, but NO one is going to jail anymore for simple possession, hallelujah....you might not be able to spark up a fatty in public, but can you sit on your back porch and take bong rips, you bet your big fat green nuggets you can!
let’s see where that ends. Only for medical use and less than 0,2% thc. Recreational use still prohibited. Guess a good fat bud of strong marihuana, might still cost some tea money.
that is not true. 0.2% is extracted THC, meaning that any product that takes the THC from the cannabis must be under that limit... there are no limits on what you can and cannot grow In terms of strength, regardless, to say that you will end up in jail is silly and not true. I had a chat with some local police officers and they have confirmed that this is the case, they will no longer be arrested people for cannabis possession... Smoking is "Strongly discouraged, but not illegal and the only prohibition that remains is smoking in a public placeabis smoking in public since yesterday
Thailand had delisted the cannabis plant and flowers from the narcotics list. Currently consumption, possession, cultivation, and sales of cannabis (roots, stems, leaves, flowers) that is not extraction is LEGAL!
But please use it responsibly and safely:
- Do not use in public as you can get in trouble for being a public nuisance carrying up to THB 25,000 fine and up to 3 month prison time.
- Do not use and then drive or operate heavy machinery, your license and be cancelled.
- Do not allow those under the age of 20 acess to cannabis.
- Do not mix cannabis and other substances such as tobacco or alcohol.
- Beware of high THC cannabis flowers as currently there is no regulations on the amount.
- Edible is still not allowed for sale without going through the FDA
How long it will stay this way is up to all of you, if we can show that cannabis can bring money and tourist into Thailand, it may stay like this forever. Please help us keep it this way by come and check out what pretty flowers Thailand have to offer.

Thnx for the info actually sorry for asking that I actually wanted to be a reseller or wanted to be in that line of business in thailand as extra income or be a full seller specially it can be an aid for my anxiety and it's really hard in the PH to get and it's really illegal. Don't want to go jail that's for sure
, have you read that they are actually freeing people incarcerated for small time cannabis offenses

However, extracts containing more than 0.2% THC are still against the law. Recreational use is still banned. Anyone found smoking marijuana for recreation will be subject to lengthy jail terms and fines
, not sure how they would be subject to “lengthy jail terms” if the country has just freed all of its prisoners in jail related to cannabis offenses..now you may not be able to just light up a doob any old place, but what is is clear is that that small time possessors and users are not going to be imprisoned…

Thailand is set to decriminalize marijuana starting Thursday, the first such move in Asia, seeking to grab a slice of a growing market for marijuana-infused food and medicinal cannabis treatments.
It will no longer be a crime to grow and trade marijuana and hemp products, a move aimed at bolstering the country’s crucial agriculture and tourism sectors. However, prospects for the Thai cannabis trade will be limited by the country’s ban on recreational use and the production of anything with more than 0.2% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound that gives users a “high” sensation.
Unless you have a Thai work permit getting a job in Thailand will be very difficult. And even now many hotels still are not full and biz slow. HM Salary I do not know what you mean. But yes rents are low depending what city, area, type of apt/house you want. Cannabis has never been legal in Thailand. In 2019 they decriminalized the possession of it but the govt has control of the strength of what's sold for medical purposes.
