So I’ve been in BKK for the last couple of days. The weather has been Splendid. The Chang beer has been cold and flowing like the mighty Chao Phraya river and the Issan ladies as lovely as ever.
BKK has well dressed for Christmas. And George Michael’s iconic song ‘ Last Christmas’ has been blasting the airwaves.
My ponder is if Last Christmas song is really about Christmas or is more a love song. George could have sang Last Kwanzaa. or Last Ramadan and the song would have been as good as ever!

Of course you are right. George grew up in a largely Christian country and his main markets remain Christian. Whether he was an active Christian is not relevant. He was referencing the holiday period when gifts are given, and lamenting that his heart was given away by his love interest
