Is my yellow housebook a proper substitute for a certificate of residence for opening an account with K bank or do I need to get the CofR from immigration beforehand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The yellow housebook is generally accepted as a substitute for a certificate of residence at most banks, including K Bank. Many users have successfully used their yellow book along with their ID card to open accounts without issues. While acceptance can vary by bank branch or the type of transaction, recent trends indicate that the yellow book is preferable and commonly accepted.

The yellow book in recent times has generally getting more accepted, but there will will be difference in offices and types of business. So for example two banks from the same company one might accepted the other the certificate of residence.

yes I took care of that about 8 months ago with Bangkok bank but I came back to USA shortly after getting my extension and didn’t have time to provide new visa with them so…frozen but seems the prudent thing to do in Thailand is to have multiple accounts just in case
