IO has been asking for police clearance certificate to extend Non-imm O (marriage) in Bangkok. I extend stay permit based on married to Thai last 3 years. This is first time experiencing such requirement. Is this same to other provinces? Or new rule?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Bangkok is experiencing a request for a police clearance certificate to extend their Non-Immigrant O visa (based on marriage), which they have not encountered in their previous extensions over the last three years. They inquire if this requirement is new or applicable in other provinces as well. Several commenters provide mixed insights, some noting similar past experiences and questioning the user’s previous status, indicating that the requirement may not be new. There is also a discussion about the user’s past claims regarding Permanent Residency (PR) and their current visa status.
my apology in advance if I understand your question wrong. My this post related to this year requirement. What’s your purpose? What’re you trying to relate with 2023 issue?
You said you never been asked for police clearance in the past. You obviously have because you said so in 2023. Same as you said you HAD a PR now you say it's pending. Facts and truth is important if you ask for assistance.
understand. I cannot recall where I said I had PR. I am still on Non-O married. I planned to apply PR. Officer suggested me to apply for Thai Citizenship, which I did. It is Still pending. So this year I have to extend my stay permit. Now back to my question: IO officer asked me to submit police clearance along all set of documents used submit every year. Is this a new requirement? Or case by case?
Hello everyone. I have a question regarding Work Permit. I want to take a sabbatical leave for 6 months. If I cancel my current work permit and then 6 month later can I apply for a new work permit with the same company? FYI I have PR. So I am not concern about stay permit. Please share your experience.
You read your post from 2023 you were on married visa then and you were asked for police clearance you now doing the same so obviously not new requirement
if your PR application is still pending then you are no longer on any visa extension. They also don't ask for more documents, as they don't accept your application until everything is in order. You are making up a fake story, as nothing you say fits what you say you're doing. You also stated that you had PR, yet you also state you're on a marriage visa extension, which you do not need on PR. On PR you don't need any visa extension. Your stories are catching up with you...lolol
Wow, thank you for taking the time to investigate my visa situation with more passion than my actual immigration officer. Clearly, you’re moonlighting as an expert in immigration law and a professional fact-checker. Impressive!
But just to clarify — the world is a little more complex than your black-and-white interpretation. I’ll let the authorities handle the paperwork while you continue auditioning for CSI: Immigration Edition. Appreciate the entertainment though 🍭
quit lying. You don't have PR, and you don't have a PR application pending. Oh, and I am an expert on immigration rules, and regulations. Just quit making crap up to bring attention to yourself...lolol
it’s impressive how confidently you speak about someone else’s life with zero facts. You may call yourself an expert, but all I see is someone obsessed with being loud, not right.
Keep watching from the sidelines — I’ll let real life handle the updates. 😉
you stated that you have PR in 2023, but you don't, or you would be done with any visa extension. Then you backtracked and said it was pending, but that is a lie too, as when PR is pending you don't need any visa extension, unless it is denied. Again quit lying
no worries. I can get that. I got it in the past. I am just wondering why IO asking for it this related to extend stay permit. It’s been never asked in the past
