TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for verifying a marriage certificate and applying for a 3-month Non-O marriage visa involves several steps and depends on your marriage location. If you married in your embassy in Thailand, verification from the embassy and translation may be necessary. For non-Thai nationals, a marriage visa (Non-O) typically isn't available; however, a dependent visa might be an option if one spouse is on a long-stay visa. Each individual's circumstances may require specific processes, such as legalizations from both the home country and the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

I think you can only get a Thai marriage visa to stay in Thailand if you are married to a Thai national

Which country? This is the process for a UK marriage -

1. IN THE UK: Marriage certificate legalised by the FCDO in Milton Keynes (2 documents, original and legalised copy))

2. IN THE UK: Marriage Certificate AND the Apostille from the FCDO Translated (2 translations from 1., now 4 documents in total)

3. IN THE UK: Marriage Certificate AND the Apostille from the FCDO AND their translations verified by the Thai Embassy in London (4 verifications from 1. and 2. giving 8 documents in total)

4. IN THAILAND: All the above (i.e. all 4 documents & their translations, making 8 in total) Legalised by MFA in Bangkok

then register your marriage at your local Amphur.

Where did you get married?

You can apply inside Thailand if you are married to a Thai and have funds in a Thai bank account

TurquoiseRaccoon5840 if neither of you are Thai nationals you can't get a marriage visa for Thailand. It doesn't matter where you got married. If you want a Thai visa you will have to look for another option.

TurquoiseRaccoon5840 If you where married in Thailand they will be no need to get your marriage certificate kor 2 and your kor 3 translated if its in Thai,You only need to do it if you return to you home country for legal reason..And yes you can apply as long as you have enough days left on your visa...

TurquoiseRaccoon5840 one of you can ask the Thai embassy in Kazahkstan if they are willing to issue to the wife a "dependent" (trailing spouse) Non-Imm-O Visa. Many embassies acknowledge it, if the husband has applied for and been issued a 1-year Non-Imm-O/A Longstay visa. For this the husband must be over 50 years old. And for the "dependent" visa you can use original marriage documents. Only for the 12-months extension of stay of the "trailing" wife, the marriage documents must be translated into Thai and legalized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Kazahkstan, and co-legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok. This is the only way Immigration will allow the wife to apply for the 12-months Extension of Stay based on being a dependent of a husband who is in Thailand on a one-year Non-Imm-O/A Lomngstay Visa
