How strict is the 500k baht requirement for 3 months?

I ask because my account dipped by 100 usd. are they that strict to deny over 100 usd? What’s your HONEST experience?
Answer summary
The community discussion revolves around the strictness of the 500,000 baht requirement for obtaining a Thai DTV visa. Many participants emphasize that the requirement is absolute, with some sharing experiences of challenges faced due to temporary dips in balance. Various embassies reportedly have differing focuses, with some considering the end-of-month balance rather than daily fluctuations. It is generally advised to keep the balance consistently above the required amount, and even a temporary dip could be a risk when applying for the visa. Overall, the consensus is that adhering strictly to the financial requirements is crucial for successful visa applications.

dude , try to be over the bare minimum. additionally if you put it in a high interest yield CD for 60 months you will always be good and its at least getting something instead of sitting there waiting for you to break into it again

My application I showed a balance over 500k, I was not asked to prove how long it had been in the account

I hold the cash for only 1 month before the application and 1.5 months before the interview. However the amount was invested as a precious metal for a longer time in the same bank before the exchange

If you can't legitimately meet and prove the financial minimums required to obtain the DTV Visa then you honestly have no business applying for it as you cannot afford to exist comfortably in Thailand. The Visa is not designed for broke people barely scraping by from paycheck to paycheck.

I can read fine, but thank you for being concerned. The initial question as to how strict they are about the 500k minimum was without a doubt a very stupid question. The requirements are clearly written and stated and nowhere on any official Thai immigration website does it state any exceptions or indicate any reason why they may not be "Strict" about it.

Being the wonderful reader that you are, did you actually think after clearly reading the information they provide you that perhaps they're just kidding? You may want to reevaluate your own intelligence before you question somebody else's because again your initial question constitutes a stupid one.

Just want to say i totally agree with you. OP is definitely crazy. Acting like he has other accounts with money but rather than just sending 100 dollar to wise he starts a whole conversation about it… op check your finances then apply when you ready!

I never use my wise account, I simply transferred 500k baht into it to apply for the dtv.

It was less than 500k for less than 24 hours.

Glad to know you can read though buddy

Just edit the PDF file dude, use Sejda or any other website, you can, literally provide random bank statement that you bought for 5usd :D

Excellent idea to risk document forgery charges in country with legal system like Thailand. If they put the doc into any compliance app the edit will come out in 1 second.

s of legit statements they have. That's more than enough to spot 90% of tries. Anyway you have to be brave to try doing this from your real name. If for some reasons they decide to do extensive screenning, you'll likely get rejected and you'll have note on your name forever. and editing financial documents... well that's interesting note to have with. I'm sure you will have easy time the next time you deal with them.

Not surprised that you talk anonymously. There are hundreds of services that can be used like sumsub that are used to spot edited documents. You have to have absolutely no imagination and to risk something like this in Thailand considering their prison life quality. But I guess there are some people who like to risk. Up to you 😉 the other thing is even discussing criminal activity from your Facebook account thinking you are „anonymous”. Certainly you are not a smartest unit in this world.

It’ll depend on the embassy or consulate processing your application but they’re generally looking at your monthly closing balance(s) not necessarily at what your active balance was on the 7th of a given month.

How would anybody know if they were rejected for a similar reason? Embassies/Consulates don't state reasons for rejection. However, I have a feeling that you might already know that?

It depends on where you apply

Some places it MUST be 3 months others it’s just balance when you apply

TO BE CLEAR 👇🏼

1. My wise account dipped under 100 usd for 24 hours. I only use wise for a few payments, but I keep the 500k in this account

On the day I will go to embassy, there will be well over the limit.

My question was simply IS 24 hours a problem to have the account with less than 500k .

Thanks to all of you who took the time to genuinely respond.

I had monthly deposits in excess of 500K but my balance would go below 500k

At the time of application my balance was above 500k

Got approved in around a week.

They want to see you benefit society, you need to show you spend money and receive money.

That's what I keep telling him, but he doesn't want to listen to me. His mother was Thai, but she has since passed. He said something about needing her blood, or blood from the family to prove that 1 of his parents were Thai. I don't know how TRUE that is, because I don't ask questions. But he has a Thai Birth Certificate with his mother's birth place on it.
