Less hassle would be to come visa exempt for 45 days, and extend for 30. But if you are dead set on 90 days at a time, then you had better get on that visa now.

It took me 10 working days to get my tourist e-visa approval letter. I applied to the Washington embassy. The process was easy and directions were understandable.

It takes days to approve and it's valid for you to enter up to 90 days from issue. If you want to stay more than 75 days then yes, as stated above, apply now if you're sure to be arriving in December. If you want to stay less than 75 days then a visa is no a necessity.

well my plan is to apply for a tourist visa which will give me 60 days and extend it for another 30 days. Go to Laos and apply for tourist visa 60 days and extend for 30 days. 😀

It's valid for 6 months and each entry gets a 60 day stamp. If you time it correctly you can get almost 90 days in Thailand with the extensions.
