TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a 30-day tourist visa in Thailand and is inquiring about re-entry regulations after traveling to Cambodia. Responses indicate that for American passport holders, there is no strict limit on entering Thailand by air, whereas entering by land is limited to twice per calendar year via Visa Exempt Entry. It is recommended to obtain a tourist visa while in Cambodia that allows for a 60-day stay and possible extension.

And before that i stayed one montn with visa on arrival and 1 extension, and another entrance afterwards. So 9 months totally

Keep in mind there is only one thai consulate in Cambodia and that's the one in Phnom Penh. They have a 3 day turn around to get your passport back and even the paper-pushing agents there can't break that time line. Also they will want to see proof of 20K baht (or the equivalent) in a bank account and proof of onward travel out of thailand in 60-90 days.

Quimi Delait you should go to your country and get a 6 month METV.

If you have more question you should start your own thread on the group so people can answer.

Get yourself a tourist visa while in Cambodia that will give you 60 days when you return and can extend another 30 at immigration office.

You can enter Thailand twice a calendar year by land border using the Visa Exempt Entry (entry without a visa). There is no official limit using Visa Exempt Entry coming in by air. It is called a Visa Exempt Entry and not a 30 day tourist visa.

There are two general times when you're asked for proof of funds

One is at a thai consulate when you're getting a visa for thailand (for a tourist visa many consulates require proof of 20K baht or the equivalent). In that instance you show a bank account (foreign or thai)

The other is when you're stamping into the country at passport control and in that instance (if you're asked) you have to show CASH either 20K baht or the equivalent.

If checked and asked by Immigration Officer on entering Thailand you can only show 20.000 Thb in cash.

can a us bank account count be proof of having savings as i don't have a long term lease in Thailand yet and can't get Thailand bank account

that's just a scare tactic, there is no official limit BUT I would certainly have proof of 20K baht in a bank account, proof of onward travel in 30 days and proof of a hotel booking

My two cents: I have entered the country 5 times with a visa exemption by air this year. Last time (the fifth) the officer at the airport told me I won't be allowed in anymore without a visa.
