Has anyone ever needed to prove how they would support themselves in Thailand beyond the bank statement? I'm preparing for such a scenario in case they ask since I don't have any income right now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Inquiries about self-support documentation for living in Thailand have revealed that while bank statements are commonly accepted, some might need to provide additional proof. Past users have shown investment statements alongside bank statements when lacking a regular income. Although it's not typical for embassies to request further evidence, it's advisable to prepare answers regarding one's plans for supporting themselves and the duration of stay, especially during interviews.
Well, just for discussion, how are you planning to support yourself in Thailand and how long do you plan to be there? Are you hoping to find remote work while you're there?

It's not common that this is requested but this question comes up during the in person interviews (which is common for some countries like Myanmar, Japan and Laos)
It's good to have your answers ready, i.e. what are you doing in Thailand, how you support yourself.
Generally they want to ensure that dtv visa applicants are not using the visa to find work in Thailand.
I've been living in Thailand for 3 years now, looking for a new job. But I was working for a Thai company while living there. My idea is to find a job there, tbh

I did, as I had very limited online income when I first applied. I submitted investment statements in addition to the 500k bank statement.
