Hello. Does anyone how long it takes to issue a 3 month non-o visa (based on retirement) in Hua Hin? I will be converting from a Tourist Visa extension which expires about 1 week after my 50th birthday. If I apply for the non-O on my 50th birthday can I get it before my extension expires? Thank you for any insight.

It wouldn't work as you want.

To apply for an in-country initial Non-O visa, you need to have minimum 15 days or more remaining with your current stamp. Once your application was accepted, you will get 15 days under consideration stamp. Then you go back to the immigration office on the day you instructed, you get the visa and a permitted-until stamp for 90 days.

You need to be 50 y/o as of the day you apply for a visa, not the day you are supposed to be given one.

So if it's only for 1 week you have remaining, your application wouldn't be accepted.

I went immigration out town asked sane question. Told needed to be seasoned 60 days. But know someone here wemt with thai and recieved 90 day Non O when money was only in account short time...

Thank for the clarification. So, it seems that for me that means a trip out of the country to either get another Tourist Visa, a visa exemption entry or a Non-O from an overseas embassy or consulate? Thanks again.

correct, you have 3 choices,

bounce out and back to get a 45 day visa exempt entry

you go to a thai consulate to get a single entry tourist visa

you go to a thai consulate to get a 90 day Non-O visa based on being over 50 <- which you can do once you turn 50.

I'd say the easiest is to bounce out and back to get a free 45 day visa exempt entry, then once you turn 50 apply for the 90 day Non-O visa for 2000baht at the immigration office here 🙂
