Hello! Is there somewhere I can begin or a document I can read with beginner knowledge? I am thinking of relocating to Thailand in the upcoming year but have no idea where to begin especially regarding the Visa process. I am 40 years old, I have a U.S passport and I would like to relocate long term.

A simple yes or no or some info would suffice. This group is here for a reason and is titled "Thailand Visa Advice" for a reason which is why everyone doesn't resort to Google. We ask here because ppl are well versed and experienced and Google doesn't necessarily give you that. So, again, if you don't have an answer, its super easy to scroll. But thank you to those who have answered!
I would begin by deciding if Thailand is actually the place you want to spend your retirement. Understanding the visa process/requirements is a bit pointless until you have made your decision. Suffice to say you can get a visa to retire in Thailand easily and it's not expensive. I would make a list of potential countries and list everything that is important to you, then compare.
Yes! I've visited Thailand several times and it is #1 on my list after extensive comparisons. I was just trying to understand a little more about the Visa process. Thanks so much!
