TLDR : Answer Summary
The approval time for a DTV dependent visa can vary depending on the consulate's processing speed. While it's difficult to provide an exact timeframe, many applicants suggest that about 4 weeks is a reasonable expectation. Some users reported that their applications were processed in as little as 6 business days, indicating that timelines may differ significantly.

Same as the primary DTV holder, but as with everything DTV it is Embassy dependant.

Better and quicker to apply for 2 separate DTV visa

No one can tell you that for certain. Different consulates move at different speeds and each case moves at its own pace. Having said that, 4 weeks is probably a good measure to go by. Set your sights on the 4 week mark and be pleasantly surprised when you get it sooner. Good luck!
