Applied to New York Consulate for DTV remote work on Jan 8th. Status changed to pending approval the next day. No request for more documents from the consulate but still pending approval. How many days should I wait before calling New York consulate? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a DTV remote work visa at the New York Consulate and is awaiting approval. Comments from others suggest varying wait times, with many indicating that processing can take between 4-6 weeks or up to 2 months, especially due to high demand and priority for absentee voting for the Thai election. It is advised not to contact the consulate as it may not expedite the process.
New York processed my dtv application almost 2 months before approved. No need to call, no one will pick up and calling will not help expedite the process
I've seen many embassies change their guidance from 15 business days to 4-6 weeks since high season started.
On top of that, most Thai embassies and consulates around the world are busy right now with absentee voting for the Thai election. They are going to prioritize processing these votes over foreigner visa applications.
