How long does it normally take to receive a Thailand Pass when using an Outlook email for the application?

Hi again,

I applied for my Thai Pass over 7 days ago with an outlook account and I didn’t realise there were issues with receiving the code. How long did it take to receive the QR codes with outlook email addresses? Has anyone got any advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users report varied experiences with receiving Thailand Pass QR codes, particularly when using Outlook email addresses. Many suggest that Gmail is more reliable for this process, citing faster processing times. It is advised to check application status on the official website and to keep an eye on spam/junk email folders for any communications. Some delays may be attributed to issues with the submitted information rather than the email provider used.

Gmail is much better for Thai visa and Thai pass.set up gmail

Used outlook and got approved in about 36 hours. Maybe check junk or spam folder?

Outlook is bad. Not only for the Thai pass. Microsoft was never able to fight spam like Gmail so they decided to refuse email from new domains or put all email from new domains in the spam box. So when Thailand comes up with something new and sends email from a new domain it will often not arrive or it will arrive in the spam box. If you are serious about email you should avoid Outlook.

I also applied with an outlook account and received an access number but no confirmation email and now it says there is no registration? Wondering if I should reapply?

this has now happened to me but wasn’t an issue before, what did you do in the end?

I’m going to wait another day or two and then reapply. Hotel has confirmed my booking so will wait and see. Will let you know!

I did and nothing!

You need to make sure you type your e-mail address in EXACTLY like you did when you registered. Don't let your browser auto-fill. Any difference including one letter being capitalized when it wasn't originally means it will say no registration found.

thanks, I have done that, hotel says they have confirmed but it still says “the information is not registered”

If you got anything it means your registration went through

I received my access code email address but no other email straight away when registering for my account. Do you need to have 2 emails to confirm you application or just the one with the access code?

I’ve completed 2 arrivals into Thailand since Test & Go started last year, first in early December 2021 and the second was last week. I used the same outlook.com email address both times.

I received my first Thailand Pass QR code the day following my initial application (last year) and with my most recent Thailand Pass (for my arrival back to Thailand last week), I received the QR code approximately 2.5hrs after clicking the submit button, which was remarkably quick.

I would guess that any delay you are experiencing has *nothing* to do with having an outlook.com email address, instead there is likely some problem with what you have submitted. Make sure you regularly check your Spam folder, just in case and as another commenter has suggested, check your status on the TP website ( tp.consular.go.th )

I used gmail and still waiting for approval! Today is day 7. I’d wait if you’re not traveling in the next few days 🙂

Re apply using your gmail account if you’re on a time crunch

Gmail seems to be the email of choice when applying for the TP, got mine approved the next day, in theory it shouldnt make any difference. Have you checked your 'status' on the TP website?
