TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is seeking guidance on upgrading their visa stamp to a Non-B visa and has questions about needed authentication of their academic degrees at the US Embassy in Thailand. Comments suggest that degrees are not directly notarized by the Embassy, and they should use an affidavit to confirm their degree's validity instead.

Did you go to the American Citizen Services website for the US consulate in Bangkok and read that they do NOT notarize degrees?

What you do is fill out the blank affidavit stating your name, DOB, passport number address here etc and that the degree in xxx from xxx dated on xxx is real.

They will notarize THAT document and it's what you use.

What do you mean?

1. Degrees aren't issued by the United States government, and therefore the Embassy would have no records or other information about your degree.

2. Who is asking for you to do something with your degree?

3. What will happen if you don't get this thing done with your degree?

If this has something to do with confirming your degree is valid with the US Embassy for a teaching job, see
