TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the process to extend their stay in Thailand following the renewal of their British passport. Responses indicated that for a 30-day extension, they should visit IT Square Laksi if they are on a visa-exempt entry stamp. Alternatively, if they hold a tourist visa (TR), they would need to go to the Chaengwattana government complex. They must bring necessary documents including both old and new passports, a passport photo, copies of relevant pages, and a fee of 1,900 baht.
If you got the passport via VFS then they will have included a letter saying you have “transferred to a new passport number ABC from passport XYZ”.
If you were on a exempt stamp you use Laksi. If on any other stamp you go to Chaengwattana and get the stamp transferred. Take the letter and copies of old passport, entry stamp and copy of new passport. They’ll be a form to fill out they’ll give you at the office.
If you’re not wanting an extension and are just leaving you can go to the airport with both passports and they’ll stamp you correctly there.
