What is the timeline and process for getting a Muay Thai visa through the Thai Embassy in Manila?

Hey everyone! Sharing my full timeline for anyone going through the same process — hope this helps!

🇵🇹 Portuguese Passport

📋 Previous visas: Educational & Business

📅 May 20 – Application submitted

📋 May 22 – Additional documents requested

⏳ May 26 – Pending approval

🔍 May 27 – Pending documents check

📋 May 29 – Documents requested (x2)

⏳ June 1 – Pending approval

📋 June 2 – Documents requested again

⏳ June 2 – Pending approval

✅ June 7 (Sunday!) – APPROVED at 11:30

⏱️ Total: 18 days (12 business days)

📎 Extra documents requested:

• 4 months of bank statements (1 extra month requested)

• Muay Thai training program schedule ( on top of all gym docs)

• Proof of payment for the Muay Thai course (transfer slip, not receipt)

• Written explanation for having a Thai bank account (since proof of payment was a Thai bank slip)

• Photo of previous visa (picture of my multi entry Non B Visa)

💡 My tip: they requested documents multiple times, which can feel stressful — but I genuinely think they care about what you submit and how you explain it. Each time they asked for something, I attached a cover letter alongside the documents, clearly explaining anything that could raise questions and making myself available for further clarification, even offering to visit the embassy in person.
