FYI - I went to CW this morning to apply for a 60 day extension to a 30 day exempt stamp for the purpose of visiting Thai wife/family.

I had the usual gambit of the docs accompanying the TM7 including copies of passport, arrival stamp, wife ID, tabien baan, marriage certificate (and also a copy of my THB400K fixed deposit as additional supporting ammo).

Anyway, the guy at the front desk in CW insisted that we must go to IT Square instead for such application, because I was stamped into Suvarnabhumi for 30 days rather than 60 days, implying that those who enter on the 30 day visa exempt stamp must go to IT Square for their 60 day extensions irrespective of whether it's to visit Thai family or for tourism. Given the mood he was in at the time we took heed of his instruction and off we went to IT Square.

An hour or so later, all was sorted at IT Square where things seemed to be adequately organised and the staff generally helpful.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the application process for a 60-day extension to a 30-day visa exempt stamp for visiting a Thai spouse. The user initially attempted to submit the application at the incorrect location but was informed that it should be done at IT Square when entering on a 30-day exempt stamp. The user successfully completed the extension process at IT Square with the necessary documentation, including marriage and financial proof.

The guy at the desk was 100% Correct <- as you found out after showing up at the correct immigration office

You came in on a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp (you say that) and that means in Bangkok you go to the IT Square Laksi Plaza location to get any extension on it ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad it worked out, (y)

Thanx for the update ๐Ÿ™‚
