Got my Thai marriage visa on September applied august

Could not print my tm47

Went to immigration Patong

They said I have not updated my 90 days and had to pay 2000 Bhat fine, ( fine from June to today)

How can they renew my marriage visa if I have not updated my 90 days

I thought that 90 days was included in visa, and if I had not updated I would not get my new marriage visa, and they would have told me to update

Can anyone help me with this

If 90 days not updated how can they give new visa

I'm very carefully with documents and done my wife's visa to UK and mine to Thailand not needed agent

This one has got me as spend lots time checking, check again check again

Only noticed this as I am going to Scotland for a few months and couldn't print off my tm47 form

Appreciate any help

Always had good feedback on this group
Answer summary
The user is concerned about the renewal of their Thai marriage visa after being fined 2000 Baht for failing to update their 90-day reporting. They question how the immigration office can issue a new visa if this requirement was not met. Comments provide clarification that the 90-day report does not reset with a new extension and must be submitted on time to avoid fines.

Gray Allen marriage visa is the worst visa to have, will change to retirement visa, to many changes and they don't update website as the changes are scraped or changed again

Joni1828 A marriage visa is much more internal processing for Thai immigration, and just a little more work for me. Thus I use it.

Gray Allen I can't understand why they didn't update my 90 days when I renewed my visa, but as you no it's always our fault

It sounds like you got a new 12 month extension of stay in June not a Non-O visa (which is a 90 day stamp). A new extension does not reset your 90 day report clock, that continues based on your last entry stamp date while on your previous extension.

2000baht fine is protocol,2 weeks over or 180days over.same cost regardless of time..nothing to do with overstay on exp visa..

The tm47 and the marriage visa are 2 separate things, the tm47 not extend your visa. It is just a supplementary document to prove where you stay also there is a new rule that is handy .Leaving Thailand and re-entering resets the 90-day count back to day 1 You need to submit between 15 days before and 7 days after your 90-day expiration date. Late filing results in a 2,000 Baht fine (or up to 5,000 Baht if arrested).

Ronny Liekens Why would you be arrested for not having done a 90-day report?
Ronny *********
Ronny *********
Ron Duke Because it is the law If you are arrested or caught by police or immigration officers without having made the 90-day report the fine increases to at least 4,000 Baht plus 200 Baht per passing day of delay, and you can face detention.

Not sure why you would want to print a TM47? You can only access and print copies of TM47 you have filed electronically. As you hadn't filed one when you went to get your extension, hence the fine, the immigration office may have has you file one at the time you applied for the extension. If that's the case the receipt will be in the back of your passport

@John *********
was told by immigration to attach copy of tm57 to passport

So why was the visa not rejected as Im on overstay

Joni1828 so did you file a TM47 in person or electronically? Did you get your extension of stay?
Ronny *********

Joni1828 You are not on overstay you are not legal proven where you stay The TM47 is only an address update; it does not extend your visa or length of permission to stay
