TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the challenges and considerations of opening a joint bank account in Thailand with a Thai partner while holding a retirement O visa. Several commenters advise against it, citing concerns about financial safety and the complexities involved in the banking process. Some suggest visiting the bank together to inquire about the necessary documentation, while others share personal experiences regarding accessibility to banking apps as an alternative.

You may have been married long enough to know her. So go for it.

I have tried.

We gave up because the teller gave us a list of things they needed and we decided that it’s not worth it 😂

She has access to my banking apps. That’s a lot easier.

ymmv though

Don't do it, so sorry but it's not a good idea or a safe way to do it

exactly. Went to kasikorn with my wife and it took half an hour to make one. We both have our own separate accounts too. I have one for my immigration money, and one for everyday spending. We just decided it would be good to have a joint savings account too. She has actually been putting more into that than I have.. all good. Only thing is you can only get one card for it. But we chose to have no cards and no online access to it at all. If we need to take money out of it we both have to be physically present on the bank. That way neither of us can take or spend any of it without the other one knowing and agreeing.
