Anyone know a KBank where I can open account on a 90 day O visa,

I’m in Bangkok at the moment but will be going Phuket and north Thailand. I heard some are less stringent than others?

I believe I have a few other things in my favour, as I have a married certificate that might help but only photocopy not original. Also Thai driving licence and Bangkok bank account.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on where to open a bank account in Thailand with a 90-day O visa, mentioning they are currently in Bangkok but will travel to Phuket and northern Thailand. They note having a married certificate (photocopy), a Thai driving license, and an existing Bangkok Bank account. Comments suggest that some bank branches may be less stringent than others, and provide specific branch recommendations, as well as the requirement for a residence certificate to successfully open a new account. The conversation also highlights the importance of bringing a Thai-speaking companion for assistance.

residential certificate requirements

An active 90 day report (from last entry) for your current address.

Your lease agreement.

A copy of the landlords ID + signature.

A copy of your TM.30 report receipt.

A copy of your passport Bio page.

A copy of your current Visa page.

A passport sized photo. (Which meets passport requirements)

The application form.

Take it to the immigration office where your 90 day report is registered for, pay the fee pick it up a few days to a week later.

If you can't do that then you have 2 options

1. Take a Thai person with you (you might have better luck, still not a guarantee to be able to open it though)

2. Pay an agency to open it for you.

Take a thai speaking person with you much less hassle.

Bangkok bank in standalone branches are easier than malls. So I expect it s the same in K bank

Sukhumvit 33 branch, it's opposite Emsphere.

There's a lot of money laundering. Also many fake certificates. I hope banks will rule this very strictly.

Are certain that you need a second bank? BB should be able to open another account for you.

@Cliff ********
that's the way I did it. As I already had an account with BB it was easy to open a second one.

@Steve ******
should be easy but not always. I have an account with BB. Went to open a second savings account at the same branch to put some separate monies in and was told I couldn't without obtaining a residence certificate. Offered them one but it was more than 30 days old and they wouldn't accept it!

Go to the Victory Monument BTS station, and go out Century Plaza. The side street is called Rangnam. About three block up on the right is a small Kasikorn branch that could help you. Just explain you now need the account to transfer in the finances you need for your one year visa extension, and don't tell them you already have a Bangkok Bank account.

Already having a Bangkok Bank account may talk against the need to have 1 more Thai bank account.
