How can I keep my Non-B visa from expiring when traveling to South Africa, and what are the implications for my infant's visa status?

Hello everyone! I have a Non b visa (single entry) and will be going to South Africa within the next week, apparently there is a fee you pay (not sure what it is called) so your Non B does not expire. Where can I do this? And how much is it? Must I go to Immigration or can you do it at the airport? Also I have been told that a baby (7months) cannot be on overstay - will not pay a fine? Is this true? Should I rather apply for a tourist visa when we come back again for her (60 days)? Will they reject a 60 day tourist visa because she was on overstay for a month? And will they give me problems when I come back with her without a visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a single entry Non-B visa and plan to travel to South Africa, you'll need to obtain a re-entry permit to avoid your visa expiring while you're away. This permit can be obtained at the immigration office or at the airport, costing 1000 baht at the immigration office and 1200 baht at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Note that this re-entry permit does not extend your current visa duration; it merely allows you to return before the visa's expiration date. Regarding your 7-month-old baby, children under 15 are not charged for overstaying, and you would not incur fines for her overstay. Instead, you might consider applying for a 90-day Non-O visa for her upon your return, particularly if you plan to extend your own visa based on work.

I am awaiting my workpermit then I will apply for Non O's for them? What are the requirements for 90 day Non-O? Can my husband do this as well?

That's gonna depend on if you are getting them Non-O visas inside the country at the immigration office OR if you are getting them at a thai consulate in another country.

I'd say look at the website of the thai consulate you're thinking of using or go to the immigration office and ask them for the hand out for the requirements if you are going to do it inside the country.

What are the requirements?

yep.. They both can get Non-O's and then extensions that match yours because they are the spouse and the child of someone legally working here

She will not be charged and you will not have to pay. If they try to tell you different just stand your ground and be firm.

If you are comin' back on the non-B and will then get it extended based on work, why not apply for a 90 day Non-O for the child so you can get them "piggy-backed" onto your extension when you come back and extend your current visa.

you can get a re-entry permit at the immigration office or at the airport before you fly out. A single entry re-entry permit is 1000baht at the immigration office but 1200baht at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

It will NOT add any days to your 90 day Non-B stamp you have now but it will let you return before that stamp expires and be stamped in for the same expiration date.

Children under 15 cannot be charged an overstay and children under 18 can't be banned for overstay

Would it be the best bet just to do it at immigration then?

Sorry I got no idea where the re-entry permit counter is down there at that airport. :/

She has been on overstay for a month now, will they give me problems? Also if I go to SA shiuld I apply for a 60 day tourist visa for her? Or will they reject it because she was ons overstay? They cannot deny her entry coming in right? And they cannot ask me to pay her overstay as the mom right?
