VISA EXTENSION BECAUSE OF HOSPITAL STAY

Hi,

Actually I am stayibg in hosptal in Chiang Mai and need to extend my 60 days Tourist Visa to 90 days. It expires on 3.3.2026 Due to my injury I am unable to go to the immigration. I have a letter from my doctor that I need the extension for medical reasons. Can anyone help me or knows a reliable and not to expensive agency?

PS: The hospital wanted to charge 8000 Bath, which is way to high. Therefore Im looking for another solution

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently hospitalized in Chiang Mai and needs to extend their 60-day Tourist Visa to 90 days due to an injury. They have a doctor's letter for the extension but cannot go to immigration themselves. They are looking for an alternative to a high fee quoted by the hospital, which was 8000 Baht. Various commenters suggest different approaches, including getting a power of attorney to have someone apply on their behalf, discussing extension options with the hospital, and contacting a visa agency that may charge less.

First - do you have medical/ travel insurance ?

If so this can be claimed back from insurance

Use credit card and keep all receipts

Do it with the hospital you stay at, and which has your health records.

I will never go there again. Being a non Thai person, you are grossly overcharged for anything they do.

Will the hospital not help you? If you give someone a power of attorney they can go on your behalf

Considering your situation, I think you should just buck up. 8000 baht is not that much really. Pretty convenient for you too.
