I thought I had the time to apply for the DTV as an American (sorry, world) digital nomad but life happened, now I need recommendations for a visa agency service. I've seen the same names come up in this channel a few times. For those of you who have solid recommendations what are they?...
Answer summary
A user is seeking recommendations for visa agencies to help with the application for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand. Several comments suggest that using an agent might not be necessary due to the simplicity of the application, while others share their positive experiences with specific agencies like ISSA Compass and Siam Legal, noting quick approval times. Some users emphasize that it’s important to apply from the home country due to new rules, and advise against using agents as the process can be done independently.

I went through Issa compas and they were great. Have heard good things about Siam Legal too

I consulted with Issa. But the most useful advice I got was from speaking to the Hanoi consulate on the phone. Since Issa's advice contradicted that of the consulate I took a risk and applied by myself with Hanoi. 7 business days and I was approved.

Thailand_TrailRider Issa Compass gave you incorrect advice? Have you any emails/messenger communications you can show the group so that we can all beware? I ask because there have recently been two 'complaints' about Issa Compass both also posted anonymously and both unsubstantiated.

It’s not hard. No need for an agent. But you do need to be back in the US to apply. You need to get fingerprinted at a US post office and have a criminal background check done. They check your IP address, so no getting around coming back to the states. Get the ‘I love PDF’ app to combine your bank statement pdf’s into a single pdf document and compress them before sending. Trying to apply from outside the US using an agent will probably be a waste of the $400 application fee (non refundable) and your agent fee.

It sounds like someone could just get fingerprinted before leaving their home country and then use a vpn while abroad. Im not saying i am doing this, i dont want to risk getting rejected. But genuinely curious about how they verify whareabouts.

People have mentioned using a VPN, but they often require you to send all pages of your passport with all stamps and electronically I assume they can see which country you were last admitted to.

DTV applicants who get cancelled/rejected or receive alternative visas of lower value would disagree.

well you already missed the deadline also the main reason for agents is for things they can pay bribes on. The evisa portal is unbribeable so waste of money for me. But do as you see fit

The answers Issa compass gave on questions I asked them, it just seems those agencies have some inside connections. Secondly on the official thai visa website none information can be found about my application sent... Let's wait and see what happens.

EmpatheticSeahorse2083 Did you do it recently? Or before this new 'can only apply from home country' rule? Bc this new change is whats really making things very difficult for us right now : (

"makes things very difficult now"?

Why, a digital nomad can work wherever he wants, so what is the problem?

you're wasting your time trying to beat the system of the New rules for getting the DTV visa.

Return to the USA 🇺🇲, get the police clearance report, and apply for the DTV visa, staying in the USA until the decision is known.

Good Luck 🍀
