Please, advice... If my husband will be 50 next year, he can get visa for long stay here...

1. I know, that I will have visa with him, but what about 13y.o. daughter?

2. He has to show money on account. It should be account on his name, or could be on mine?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The husband can obtain a long-stay visa when turning 50, and the wife will likely receive a visa alongside him. Their 13-year-old daughter can enter Thailand without concern for overstay penalties by using an exempt entry. The bank account showing funds necessary for the visa must be solely in the husband's name and kept in a Thai bank for at least two months prior to the application.

13 yr old cannot be charged overstay or does not have to worry about ban for overstay. So, just have the daughter enter on exempt entry and don't worry about it.

So if you apply inside Thailand at Immigration for a Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age (some people call this retirement visa) you need 800.000 Thb on a bank account on your name with some other documents, but only for 1 day. This Visa let you stay 90 days and after 60 days you can apply for an Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age (some people also call this retirement visa) you need the money on a bank account two months prior the application date. You see, by calling everything the same it is hard to give an answer.

@Robert ******
. Now I understand. Thanks

You start with a Visa that gives you an Admitted to stay period. If you want to stay longer you apply for an Extension of that Admitted to Stay period and it is called an Extension of Stay.

@St***
, please explain... if I’m applying inside Thailand for retirement visa for the first time, do I need the 800k deposit 2 month before applying or what. Sorry I don’t understand the difference between applying for visa vs applying for extensions of stay

@Amir ***
2 months is for the extention of stay not for the visa

@Robert ******
Are you sure? No more required to deposit 2 months before applying ?

Depends on where he is going to apply. If he like to do inside Thailand he can put the money into his bank and apply the next day.

1. yes. 2. His account.
