How busy is immigration in Thailand during high season and what should I prepare for my arrival?

Yesterday I arrived for the annual European winter avoidance holiday and I’ve never seen immi so busy before in my life! The queues were over spilling from the immi ramp down the main isles and they were so long that they reached the next immi entrance!
However my access was instant and they gave me 6 months no drama with work stream. I will say though I watched many visitors get sent all the way back from that giant queue to do their TDAC, so don’t forget people!
Also when queuing you go past the naughty area where all the reprimanded passengers are and there were many in here so be sure to have your stories ready.

Yeah I landed at 5pm it was hectic
I was with my thai gf so I got in the thai lane
I also attempted to use the non thai E-Gate as my thim app stated i could use it
The E-gate simply flashed up saying go to immigration counter and you are directed into the priority lane

At BKK they normally accept, but at Sadao landborder they did not accept, so it depends.
