I know it has been covered many times re: 12 months of 65,000 bank deposit for the FIRST non-o one year extension not being able to be used. BUT after several phone calls to the Phuket IO both in Thai and English, they say we can.
I guess only a trip there will give the real answer. We also have the 800,000 ready just in case. WE ALL KNOW WHY!!
TLDR : Answer Summary
There is confusion regarding the use of a 12-month 65,000 baht bank deposit for the first extension of a Non-O visa in Thailand. While many sources claim it cannot be used, recent confirmations from the Phuket Immigration Office suggest it might be acceptable. Various comments discuss the requirements for proving income through bank statements and the necessity of having an alternative fallback of 800,000 baht in case the initial method does not work.
