ORIGINAL POSTER
I went to immigration for visa extension a week or so ago and got the stamp saying I was under consideration and that I should return on oct 7th. Am I safe in assuming that that clears me from deportation until oct 7th?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Receiving a stamp indicating your visa extension is under consideration assures you that you are safe from deportation until the specified follow-up date. You should return to immigration as instructed.
