Quick question peeps - my son and I are due to do our first 90 days reporting. Is it true that the first reporting has to be done in person vs online. Secondly can I do this on behalf of my so so that I don’t have to drag him out of school? Many thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The first 90-day reporting for your visa can often be done online, but it may depend on specific circumstances such as previous TM30 filings. If the online system rejects your submission, you can try multiple times up until the due date. Additionally, you are permitted to file the 90-day report on behalf of your son if you have his passport, meaning you don't have to take him out of school. Some users have reported successfully completing the process online without having to appear in person.

How old is your son? Mine has lived here all his life on an O visa extension as my dependent and has never done a 90 day report (he's nearly 8). It's never been mentioned or been an issue when getting a new extension. I do mine and my wife's online.
Some people have reported being able to do the first report online with the new system. Usually the biggest thing that can prevent this is if they traveled somewhere in the country and a hotel filed a TM30 for them, but they never filed another TM30 when they returned home, so the 90 day report address isn't matching their last TM30.
You can attempt an unlimited number of times online up until the due date, so just try it and see if it works. If they reject it they should give a reason and you can then try again.
You have 7 days after the due date to file in person without penalty.
As long as you have your son's passport you should be able to do his 90 day report for him.
thanks for taking the time to write this. I understand that I need to register my email before I can apply online. But for some reason the site I’m on which I assume is the same one does not allow me to click through. Do you mind sharing the url with me?
Try doing it online. It will either let you, or not. If you go your son doesn't have to go with you. In fact you can hire someone to do it, and you don't even have to go. The agent fee runs about bt1000 each.
