We recently got back from Cambodia and my girlfriend’s visa runs out in May. The new stamp says June. Does that mean it has been automatically extended and she can now stay until June?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The new stamp indicates a 60-day allowance from when your girlfriend entered Thailand, which is valid because she entered on a Multi-entry Tourist Visa (METV). However, her original visa expires in May. She can stay until June, and if she applies for a 30-day extension (which costs 1900 baht), she may extend her stay until July. It's essential to confirm with immigration if there's any mistake with the stamp.

If the METV visa holder exits Thailand and re-enters just before the visa expires in May they will be granted 60 days taking them into July, which can then be extended an additional 30 days for 1900 baht at Thai immigration.

She has a Multi entry Tourist Visa. That visa is valid for entering the country during 6 months after getting it. Each time she enters the country during those 6 months she will be allowed 69 days permission of stay.

Visa will expire on May, but she can stay until June - or July if apply for a 30 days extension

entry stamp for TR is 60 days 59 nights, not 69 days..

obviously a typo, 9 is next to 0 and my fingers are like sausages

It says “TR” which means a tourist visa entry.

This could be a mistake which needs corrected, or it could be completely legitimate that she got 60 days as she has a tourist visa (perhaps unused and forgotten about). You’ll need to confirm one way or the other.

If it’s a mistake by the immigration officer on arrival then that date is not valid. Entry stamps are not “automatically” extended. You’d need to apply at a local immigration office.

That's right .

She entered on a TR visa which gives you 60 days . She can then extend that for another 30 days at a cost of 1900baht

@Craig ******
then she's fine and she's STAMPED in as shown.

What is the expiration date of her METV multiple entry tourist visa as shown on the visa?

May. So is this a 30 day extension from her original visa?
Ellie *******
@Craig ******
, no if she applied tourism extension, it will be added to the current entry stamp, means 30 days starting 8 June.

She can do border bounce on or before the METV validation date in May to get the last 60 days stamp that is also eligible for 30 days extension.
