I am applying from London in December (I am only home for 12 days over Christmas so I know it’s a big rush including public holiday days). I already have my flight booked back to Thailand. Say I get it issued *after* I’ve flown back would I be able to leave Thailand and enter from a different country to activate it or would I have to return back to the UK? Thank you πŸ™πŸΌ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on activating a Thai DTV visa if it is issued while they are back in Thailand after a short visit to the UK. Community members suggest doing a border bounce to activate the visa and advise on the potential challenges due to Thai embassy closures during holidays.

so you applied for a DTV then applied for the METV when you thought you may not get DTV in time? METV is much quicker?

Good luck with that. Remember that thai embassies take thai holidays so they will likely be closed on the following dates in December, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31 plus January 1 and they quote a 10 day processing time. You'd need to be pretty confident you had all the information required

Just do a border bounce and present the printout of the DTV approval to the immigration officer upon entry.
