TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the requirement of proof of onward travel for the COVID extension at the Mueang Thong Thani immigration office. Responses varied, indicating that while proof is not necessarily mandatory, concerns were raised about increased scrutiny on extensions. It's suggested that those extending might benefit from obtaining a refundable ticket dated about 55 days from the expiration of their current extension.

and you got your last covid extension at Muang Thong Thani Immigration office when exactly

?

There are more than a few reports (especially from 'milkers' <- people on covid extensions over and over) that they are asking people for proof of onward travel within the next 60 days or they are saying they can't have their extension.

now perhaps you weren't asked but that doesn't mean they're not asking anyone and I think it's wise to err on the side of caution.

Caution is always good with Thai immigration. Even a throw away ticket would solve the problem, in case they were to ask.

don't take this the wrong way BUT if you have been milking covid extensions since the lock down in March 2020 just because you don't wanna go home, be prepared to be put thru the wringer as far as why you're still here. They are getting much more stringent about issuing those covid extensions.

We have recommended people get a ticket OUT dated about 55 days or so from your current extension expiration date <- so when you apply they'll give you another 60 day covid extension. ..

Sadly, nobody can answer that question. The 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is optional, and the immigration officer on duty may request whatever documents before granting the extension of stay. Please see my pinned post at
