Question about extension 1 year based on marriage to Thai national and if they divorce before the current extension expire.

If they divorce while the current extension is valid, can the person stay on the same extension until due date and then change to retirement or have to change to retirement eztension when divorce is official?

I think the person have to change reason for extension when divorce is final, is this correct?

The extension based on marriage becomes invalid the date you go to the amphur and sign the divorce decree.

You have to go to the immigration office cancel the marriage extension and apply for a new extension for another reason as soon as the divorce is signed off on.

Every day you don't do it is considered overstay at 500baht a day fine
