I read that with the digital nomad visa you pay 17% tax on your income.
Do you pay tax on your foreign income of you have an educational or a retirement visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion clarifies that there is no specific digital nomad visa, but the LTR Visa allows for work under certain conditions, specifically for highly skilled professionals at a 17% tax rate. However, if income is derived from outside Thailand, there may not be tax obligations. It is emphasized that working with an Educational or Retirement Visa is not allowed without a work permit.
Basically if you don't have a work permit, any work you do is illegal. You can't work with an ED visa, and you can't work with a retirement visa.

There is no digital nomad visa.
There's an LTR Visa, and one of the categories is "work from Thailand professional." The 17% tax rate only applies to the "highly skilled professionals" category. As long as your income is derived outside of Thailand, you wouldn't have to worry about taxes.
