Do visa requirements vary significantly between Thai embassies, and do I need to translate documents in Italian?

Hi, I heard that some requirements are different from embassy to embassy, is that true? I have seen that some embassies require a 6 month bank statement of the 500k baht, others only the 500k baht without mentioning the 6 months history. And I think other things may vary as well?

P.S. I might have some Italian written docs (like company incorporation files, company tax returns etc.), do I have to "legally" translate them I guess? Even if I apply from Italian based embassies?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, visa requirements can vary from one Thai embassy to another, including rules about financial documentation like bank statements. While some embassies may request a 6-month bank statement showing funds of 500,000 baht, others might only require the amount itself without additional history. Additionally, regarding documents written in Italian, the acceptance of these documents and whether they need official translation can depend on the specific embassy's regulations. Generally, acceptable languages include Thai, English, and the language of the host country, but it is best to consult the specific embassy's guidelines for precise requirements.

Yes the rules vary embassy to embassy (this is not really unique to DTV, always been case for all thai visas except Elite, and that's because last one is not issued by embassys).

As to document language, again rules vary embassy to embassy, don't know rules of Italian embassys in particular but generally embassys accept documents in host country language, but again you have to look at details on individual embassy website AND look on fourms/groups like this to see if what embassy website says and reality match (regularly they don't).

General rule of thumb but not 100%, acceptable languages are Thai, host country language and English , some require official stamped (by your own gov) translations, most just require translations if not in the previous languages listed

If the bulk of your supporting documents are in another language than Thai or English, you could benefit from using a Embassy in the country the documents originated from, and avoid being asked for additional documentation, which would put the application processing time back to zero.

I posted on my questions with my real account name and everything so the amount of anonymous people in this group is far too many and I don’t think that people should engage because we don’t know who it is.

So according to you a question is less valid just because of a name? Seems like you are more interested in who asks than what they ask, and this is also why anonymous posts exist.

Anonymous participant not really. But I can’t block this type of nonsense like this from anonymous accounts.
