DTV & DOCUMENT TRANSLATION ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Do the documents required for the DTV have to be issued in English, or at least with a certified translation? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

In Italy it is almost impossible to get documents in English from public offices (tax certificate, marriage certificate for my wife) and a sworn translation would be exorbitantly expensive (I would be better off getting the Elite visa at this point ๐Ÿ˜…)โ€ฆ while with private institutions (bank for the banking status etc) I would have no problems.

Do you think that if some of the documents were in Italian and I provided a translation of those pages (easily verifiable, they are all personal data) it could work? ๐Ÿคž

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires about the necessity of having their documents for the DTV issued in English or officially translated, given the difficulties in obtaining such translations from Italian public offices. Community members suggest contacting the Thai embassy in Italy directly for guidance, noting some personal experiences where documents in Italian were acceptable, but highlighting the importance of official confirmation regarding translation requirements.

Certified translations are far less expensive than an Elite visa.

I suppose that the Thai Embassy in Italy understands Italian language ... or am I wrong?

You need to ask the embassy you will be applying through, or check their website. They are the ones who will process the application and they decide what to accept and what not to accept.

If you are applying in Italy, they might accept documents in Italian, but they might require translations to English. The only way to know is to ask them.
