Have question, Me and my wife are applying for retirement visa.

Main applicant will be my wife and me as her spouse.

Do we need to deposit 800K in a joint account

Or we both need to deposit separately totalling to 1600K ?

Same question for Medical insurance.

Is accommodation proof compulsory, as we might change if we don't like the accommodation types.

Experienced opinion and tips welcome

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a retirement visa in Thailand, each applicant (you and your wife) must meet the financial criteria individually. This includes having 800,000 THB deposited in each of your accounts, totaling 1.6 million THB. Health insurance is not required for the 90-day Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa. Accommodation proof is necessary, and some options may include a valid hotel booking. Additionally, once in Thailand, you should open your own bank accounts and maintain the required balance for the visa extensions.

your's is complete and utter nonsense 🤨 🧐 The 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement visa must be applied for in the E-Visa online system of the Thai embassy or consulate of the home country. The BOI has absolutely NOTHING to do with this application! The BOI only comes into play if you want to apply for the LTR visa (which has a retirement option, out of five options) As the LTR has much hihger requirements, why shoud they pick this visa?

with the LTR visa, you can choose the "wealthy foreigner" retirement option. And the LTR must be applied for through the BOI. . . . . . . . .However the commonly known "retirement visa" is the Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa, which must be applied for through the online E-Visa system

first, it is a five year visa, and we know NOBODY who has already successfully gone into the second five year. The BOI visa is the LTR visa. The "retirement visa" is the "single entry 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement/over 50 Visa" - it has NOTHING to do with the BOI or the LTR or the Non-O/X

Each visa and extension is individual. You each must meet the requirements individually. Your marriage ( assuming neither of you is Thai ) is not considered

some embassies allow your partner to apply for the "dependent" 90-days Non-O Visa without own finances, IF the main caretaker is on a 365-days Non-Imm-O/A Longstay visa, having fulfilled all the requirements for such.

you don't need any health insurance if you apply for the 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa, - everyone for him/herself. Each one of you needs 800,000 THB equivalent in your home bank account for the application to the visa itself. After having entered Thailand, each one of you needs to open his/her own Thai bank account in your sole name (!!) as soon as possible, and transfer the required minimum of 800,000 THB onto it. As soon as the money has been sitting in your two accounts for 2 months, you can apply for the "1-year extension of the stay permit based on retirement" from the 90 days stay permit to a 1 year stay permit. You can only apply on Immigration if you got a valid TM30 accomodation registration, otherwise Immigration will not service you. Some Immigrations accept a hotel stay and the hotel's TM30
