Hi all do you need to show a return flight or a flight to a nearby country on arrival to Thailand
Answer summary
The necessity of showing a return flight or onward flight when arriving in Thailand depends on the type of visa you hold. For tourists on a short-term visa, it's typically required to have an onward flight. However, those arriving on long-term visas do not need an onward ticket. While immigration may not always check for an onward flight, passengers might be questioned at their point of departure or upon entry, making it advisable to have a ticket just in case.

No. Not mandatory but remember that if you look suspicious to the immigration officer, this will give more ground to that suspicion.
