Hi all,

My friend and I are planning to apply for the DTV from Ireland as soon as possible. Neither of us has held the minimum 500k baht in our personal bank accounts for the past 3 months, though we can transfer the funds across from our investment accounts immediately.

The official requirement is 3 months of seasoning, but I’d rather not wait that long if I can avoid it. For anyone who has applied recently: did you need to show the full 3 months, or has 1 month (or less) been accepted in practice?

Thanks in advance for any insights.
Answer summary
A user seeks advice on applying for a Thai DTV visa from Ireland without having the required 500,000 baht in their personal bank accounts for 3 months. Comments reveal mixed experiences, with some stating that adhering to the 3-month requirement is crucial to avoid rejection, while others mention instances where shorter periods were accepted, particularly through the London embassy. There are suggestions to ensure all documents show substantial financial evidence and strong applications to improve chances of approval.

Why waste the fee and time to apply if you’re not going to meet the criteria? If the official requirement is 3 months, it’s 3 months.

Depends where you apply and the officer who checks your case. I sent 2 months bank statement in london and they didn't say anything.

From my understanding they require 3 months of bank statements to see you are actually spending money and 500k as the balance at the time of application.

I’m not a legal expert but I had my application approved with a few dips below 500K

My monthly deposits was in excess of 500K and I submitted a salary certificate from UAE + bank statements.

It depends on how strong your application is in overall and I would assume it plays a role if you apply from your country of official residence as well.

A weak application barely meeting the minimum requirements will most likely get a rejection.

Yeah it’s all about you what you want 😂 Either 3 months or apply at somewhere where it is known they accept a shorter timeframe like London.

Why such a rush ?? Rushing like that is the best way to get rejected …

If you don't mind the lost fee, you can show source of funds from your brokerage with 3 months of statements and explain.

You cannot avoid it, you need to have it on your bank account for 3 months. The requirements are clear. But you can still believe that you are smarter than them, apply “as soon as possible” and get rejected🤷‍♂️

I believe Irish applications are routed through London and that embassy only requires the funds to be in place 10 to 15 days, but it does require 3 months of bank statements showing income streams.

The legal text pertaining the law does not mention anything about the necessity of seasoning anything. Another made up invetion of some embassies. What I would do in that case is to demonstrate that the funds came from your own investment account and mention that in your cover letter. Should be fine, then.

For London you don't need three months it's 15 days

thanks for this. So far 2 Thai agents have told me categorically it does not have to be in a UK bank account and it should be 3 months +.

So much conflicting information.

this is exactly what they wrote to me and I got approved having dips below 500k but the final balance was 500K+

The statement itself should show all transactions up to the closing date and haven’t 500K

If the embassy states you need 3 months then you need 3 months. Not worth submitting with only 1 month as youll get rejected and lose the visa cost money. Wait until you get to 3 months
