Do I need to report in person after re-entering Thailand if I've already submitted a 90-day report online before leaving?

I know there is much of the same questions being answered over and over again about the 90-day reporting but I have searched and the results are irrelevant to my question.

First reporting must be in person. Got that. The second can be done online. Got that.

But lets say I leave Thailand for 3 days after I have done my first online reporting.

I understand that the clock resets and all that.

But, when I have re-entered Thailand, bare in mind I have already done one 90-day reporting online before my departure, can I do the next 90-day reporting online or does the clock reset in a way so that now I have to do the 90-day reporting in person yet again because it is my first 90-day reporting AFTER coming back to Thailand?

I.e does the clock reset so the first 90-day reprting after leaving Thailand must ALWAYS be in person and THEN you can do online again?

I hope that I have explained it clear enough :-)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the process of 90-day reporting after leaving Thailand and returning. They wonder if the reporting requirement resets upon re-entry, requiring an in-person visit for the first report after returning, even if an online report was completed prior to leaving. Comments suggest that, generally, the first report after leaving Thailand must be in person, but some users advise trying the online method first to potentially avoid an unnecessary trip.

You can always try to submit the report online. There have been scattered repots of people that get their first report accepted. But just submit online and then expect for rejection and plan to go in person. Maybe you'll get lucky and save yourself a trip. If not at worst you spent a few minutes on your computer.

My understanding is the clock resets on reporting type too ie you have to do first one in person (or recorded mail) again after you leave and come back. Happy to be proven wrong but that is how I did it.

Anonymous participant It is a nuisance but in previous location I did not mind as good restaurants and shops close to office. I have just relocated and getting used to completely new rull set.

I understand. I got my DTV approved very fast so I am just trying to learn the rules to avoid problems down the road. Thanks for your feedback.

Anonymous participant Totally understand. The myriad of rules and different application and interpretation at different locations does not help. I went from BOI who did not care for TM30 and travelling so no 90 Day. Then Jomtien which TM30 once and OK not to report if returning to same address. Very quick and efficient 90 day in person. Now in Chiang Mai who want new TM30 if I travel anywhere, domestic or international. No idea how they do the 90 days here. Will just leave it all up to agent. She is helpful and not charged for any extra services after finding me a condo

If you leave and return then you start over again so you should do the first one in person. You can try online first and if it doesn't work you still have time to do in person anyway
