Do I need to pay for a visa when doing a border run to Laos?

Hello members!

I need to do the border run and considering LAOS and Myanmar.

I know that in Myanmar if you do the visa run only and back at the same day, you don't need to buy visa. Just get a kind of permit for 500baht. However Laos is a little bit closer to my place, but visa costs 35$.

Or maybe something changed? 

Anybody know if I want to do the  visa run only at the Laos border, do I still need to buy visa and spent 35$?

daypass for Myanmar is 500 Thb, a 30 day visa for Laos is $35 or 1500 Thb. You need to buy one to enter one of these countries.
