Will I face any issues crossing the border to Laos for a DTV border run?

I'm doing my first border run to Laos on Friday most likely to Nong Khai on DTV. Will I face any issue going right in and coming back? Do I need a hotel booking?

Can anyone recommend a border run agency that operates strictly at that border? I won't need a ride to the border I just wanted help when I get there. I understand it may not be necessary but it would give me peace of mind.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing for a border run to Nong Khai, Laos, and inquires about potential issues when exiting and re-entering Thailand with a DTV. Commenters reassure the user that there should be no major problems, advising to complete the TDAC online before returning. Some suggest staying in Laos for a night for relaxation, while others confirm the need for a visa on arrival for Laos. No hotel booking appears to be mandatory according to the discussions.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

If you paid for your visa in laos, make it a couple days trip. Cool area with some good food. Make a stop at the casino even.

You'll get out and right back in on a DTV without much issue at all at Nong Khai,

You'll most likely have to buy a Lao visa on arrival at the crossing (unless you're from a country that gets in to Lao without a visa)

and

as people pointed out don't forget to file the TDAC before you come back to thailand online via the TDAC website

With a dtv they will let you in from Nong Khai . They extorted me last week their I didn’t have a dtv regular tourist visa advised me they wouldn’t let me back in had to fly then another fellow came to me and said could drive but would be 7500 . But with a proper visa wouldn’t have an issue up their to get back in

It's really a nothing burger. Bring $40USD for the Laos visa in perfect condition notes and save yourself about 600 baht.

Park your car right side of 711, then cross the street (away from border) and take a bus to Laos. Also tuktuks there that will take you to the bus

I have a service at Nong Khai checkpoint that can help you go and return in one day.

Dude just leave and come back. I’ve made two runs to vietnam with no issues.

Have your TDAC and maybe a visa printout if you want the extra layer of caution.

I’ve used my phone every time with the QR and never get stopped anymore since getting the visa

Okay thank you. This is helpful. You mean the QR from the Evisa on your phone?
Gary ******
Anonymous participant yes its a screenshot of my evisa page and i always keep relevant info on hand in case of problems.

Again, just leave for a day or two and come back. Just do your 90 day reporting so you don’t give them a reason to stop you

Anonymer Teilnehmer If you work on a DTV in Thailand you might get into trouble from that, but not from the border run

Anonymous participant you're a digital nomad, you should be able to work from anywhere

You’re over thinking this way too much

Why not just stay in Vientiane for a night if you’re stressed out
