Hi,

A question on activating ED e-visa for kid...

I have applied for the visa while still in the home country in the EU. Unfortunately I did not get it before the beginning of the school year so I came with kid on visa exemption so that he does not miss the classes.

In the meantime I've got request for further documents, including a new plane ticket (which I have bought with an option to cancel, in case any issues with getting the visa). Following to that, the visa request has been quickly approved.

Now, the question, do I have to fly back to Thailand from EU (from the country of issuance) to activate the visa or any entrance to Thailand, e.g. from a neighboring country is allowed for that purpose? The plane ticket is kind of expensive, so would be happy to cancel, but I don't want to break any rules ๐Ÿค”

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired whether they must return to the country where their ED e-visa for their child was issued to activate it, or if entering Thailand from a neighboring country would suffice. A comment clarified that an eVisa can be activated by entering Thailand at any border, including land borders.
