Hi there, quick visa question for those in the know.

Starting a job at an international school in BKK in August. Applied for Non Immigrant B Visa in the UK, but the embassy was very slow in issuing it. Therefore, to avoid wasting money on the flight, I entered Thailand on a tourist visa. Now the Non Immigration B E-Visa has been issued, I was wondering whether a land trip (thinking Savannahket, Lao), in and out stop, would be fine to active the E-Visa. Any advice ? Thanks ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on activating their recently issued Non-Immigrant B E-Visa after entering Thailand on a tourist visa. They plan to make a brief trip to Laos and re-enter Thailand. Commenters confirm that printing the eVisa and checking the immigration stamp upon re-entry is necessary for activation.

Make sure you check your passport after you re-enter with your visa and double check you got the correct stamp. You should do this any time you deal with immigration for any reason. Check your stamps immediately. It's very easy to fix right there. It can be much more difficult later. Sometimes immigration officers get confused by evisas so always double check.

Sound advice, twice now I've had to stop them stamping the wrong date and that's just a Non Imm O.

Print the recently issued eVisa PDF file out to bring it on paper, then get out of Thailand and return with that visa, by air or through a land border. This is "activating un-used visa".

You have to re-submit TM30 once you are back to Thailand on Non-B even to the same address since it has information on what visa entry or extension you are on.
