TLDR : Answer Summary
For a 5-month stay in Thailand, it is not necessary to have all five months of accommodation booked. Most advice suggests that booking one month is sufficient, and some users reported success with only a week or even just providing a hotel name without a booking.

You don't need to book anything. Just put any hotel name in the box. Embassy doesn't care where you stay just 500 k is big issue
