TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, holders of ED (Education) and DTV (Digital Nomad) visas can obtain health insurance in Thailand. You do not need a visa to get health insurance, and many providers are available. Recommendations for insurance providers include SBC Insurance, Cigna Global, AXA, Annie Wealth, and April Insurance. Users have also suggested being cautious with Thai insurance unless you have a Thai bank account. Travel insurance that covers hospital stays is particularly recommended for older expats.
from Allianz. Got a good plan, and fully covered for a hospital stay i had. Feel free to ask me any qs bout it

I have April insurance, a Thai company. Plan provides about a half million USD in coverage, with medical evacuation if needed, for about $1000/USD annually. Have not had any claims yet, thankfully, and feel good knowing my plan works in SEA (outside Singapore) and in Europe.

I do have one (out patient) which covers up to 250.000 euros. I went to hospital, I paid 20k, but I got refund 100%. The quotation is 400 euros per year, no matter your age! Almost all people which are older than 60 use it, because few insurances in Thailand cover people older than 60! The company is from Slovenia and all my friends that live here, have it. To have the same coverage with AXA you have to pay 1000 euro, and you will not get 250k euros. It is a travel insurance which is perfect for DTV
Yes, it is expensive, but it's totally worth it. I have used them since 2022, and every time I needed treatment, they approved it very quickly and without problems.
