ORIGINAL POSTER
Has anyone travelled recently from Kuala Lumpur airport to Thailand with AirAsia or Batik Air? I am in KL and have these two airlines as options. With my passport I have visa exemption stay of 60 days.

Do they ask for onward / exit ticket? I am thinking for using onward ticket web site or buying ticket directly from airline?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers can use either AirAsia or Batik Air for flights from Kuala Lumpur to Thailand. Based on community experiences, it appears that while checking in through AirAsia, many passengers successfully used automatic gates, minimizing face-to-face interactions with airline or immigration staff. However, there are mixed reports about whether onward tickets are checked; some have had their documentation verified at the gate by airline staff. For those considering onward tickets, options include using services like onward ticket websites or purchasing from airlines directly.

Flew Air Asia. Didn’t matter, did web check in, they use automatic gates at KL these days. No need to even see an Immigration officer or airline staff.

the gate staff can still check and call you to the counter before boarding. It’s possible

I rocked up to the gate staff and they said I had to use the auto gates.

that’s not the point boy. I have seen the gate staff call 5 or so people including myself to the counter before boarding and ask for a ticket out of Thailand or a long term visa.

Use batik

We flew AA and they transported us to Hat Yai. 1,5 hour. So Bangkok will be like 3? Hours.

Just hop on a plane and get the job done.
